ABOUT

A Winding Journey

Author picture

Diane M. Zimmerman is a New Jersey native, born in Atlantic City and raised in the warm cradle of Ducktown, an Italian American neighborhood populated by multiple infamous organized crime figures. Believing the empty promise that casino gambling would revitalize her beloved city, she joined the masses employed by the gaming industry. She has combined her knowledge of neighborhood activities with her employment experience as a licensed craps dealer and casino main bank cashier for the Playboy International Casino where she gained first-hand knowledge of daily casino operations and cheating scams. With her first novel now complete, she is working diligently on the sequel.

After leaving the floundering casino industry, Diane pursued a career in healthcare serving in the dual role of registered nurse and high school teacher. She is a credited editor of Practical Problems in Mathematics for Health Occupations by Louise Simmers, 2nd Edition.

She remains a faithful resident of the Jersey Shore, living a mere 15-minute drive from her old neighborhood. She shares her life with her husband, Fred, and enjoys watching the raised eyebrows of new acquaintances as she explains that they met in jail. He served as the deputy warden and she, the nurse. Diane credits their daughter Danielle, a Pulmonologist/Transplant physician, for unrelenting encouragement.
